A Note from the Chair of Governors September 2016
Dear Parents and carers,
I am a recently retired Deputy Head Teacher with over 30 years’ experience in Education and have recently been employed by D.M.B.C for most of that time. I have two children and three Grandchildren and enjoy a busy retirement.
My knowledge of school life gives me an insight into the everyday running]of a school and the problems that may be encountered. I also understand how there is a need to constantly improve and maintain educational standards. As Chair of Governors, I will continue to support the Head Teacher and other’ Governors to fulfil their roles as part of the Governing Body. I believe I am approachable, organised and able to work as part of a team.
As Chair of Governors for the past year, I feel I have made a positive contribution to the school by undertaking training for New Chairs and in Safeguarding, Prevent and Performance Management. I have also attended all Governor Forum sessions provided by the local authority as well as all Governor Meetings within school and supported the school during the recent OFSTED visit.
I am committed to the role as Chair of Governors and believe I have the skills and experience to help Scawthorpe Castle Hills Primary School to build on its recent success and achievements as it continues on its journey to excellence.
